Future Bodies (2018)

The technology of the future is being developed, in part, by very intelligent and/or very well funded people who believe that death is just a technical glitch and immortality is genuinely possible. The human being is being upgraded. This is terrifying and exciting and it’s coming – whether we like it or not.

“Future Bodies is a thought-provoking and highly entertaining play that is (almost) future perfect.” The Reviews Hub

Made in collaboration with our friends RashDash, a co-production with HOME in Manchester and generously supported by the Wellcome Trust Future Bodies imagines the implications of real world, leading edge developments in human enhancement technologies. Working with leading scientists and researchers in the fields of brain implants, cognitive enhancing drugs, artificial intelligence, advanced prosthetics and other biotechnologies, Future Bodies is our take on what it means to have and be a body now and what we might become in the future.

“Been thinking since this afternoon about what 2 say about #FutureBodies by #UnlimitedTheatre & @RashDashTheatre @HOME_mcr & I don’t really have any words. In a good way. They just make me wanna rip my face off. In a good way. Also, painfully excellent description of heartbreak” @felter_skelter on Twitter

Future Bodies had its first outing in autumn 2018 – with the right partners, we’d love to bring it back. If you’re a promoter and interested in co-producing or presenting the show, please contact Alice Massey, Executive Producer
