Core Artist & Chief Executive
J is a writer, producer, performer and director and a founding member, Core Artist and the Chief Executive of Unlimited. They specialise in collaborations with scientists particularly in the fields of human spaceflight, quantum physics and human enhancement technologies. In 2021/22 J is a Visiting Scholar at Oxford University’s Wolfson College working with their theoretical quantum physicists to help tell the story of their work towards a new Theory of Everything. J is also the Director of Human Spaceflight operations for Unlimited’s ‘sister org’ the Unlimited Space Agency whose mission is “to inspire the next generations of poet-scientists and space explorers”.
Beyond their work with Unlimited J has directed seven CBeebies Christmas shows 2013-19 which remain available on BBC iPlayer, is a member of Oxford University’s “Science Together: Oxford Researchers & Communities” advisory group and the proud parent of two teenage humans.
As a Core Artist with Unlimited, J is currently leading on the development of Space To Fly – a large scale, Afrofuturist aerial spectacular – in collaboration with Dela Victoria Amedume of Upswing slated for production in summer 2023 and developing UNeditions – a digital publishing platform that allows artists to publish and sell “immersive scripts” of plays and contemporary performance work that includes sound and lighting design. They will also continue to lead on the company’s work for family audiences delivered through the Unlimited Space Agency and touring with their beloved Space Shed.
