Fund Manager

Mark is the administrative brain behind our new grant programme, unAwards. He has worked as an arts practitioner, executive director, and consultant for over 35 years, mainly based in Yorkshire. His work spans senior roles at Arts Council England, leadership roles in arts and cultural organisations large and small including Phoenix Dance Theatre and Unlimited, and as a consultant working across arts, culture and heritage with organistions, local authorities, and independent artists.

Mark has also worked abroad including in Spain, Sri Lanka, and Türkiye, trained and worked as a Radio Studio Manager at the BBC World Service, and has initiated networks such as the Yorkshire Touring Network, for peer support within the arts and cultural sector.

Recent engagements include work with Calderdale Council, Manchester Museums Partnership, InDance International (Barcelona), Freedom Studios, Manchester City Council, Mind the Gap, Grief Series/Polite Rebellion.

Mark is Chair of Yorkshire Dance and, when he’s not doing all the above, loves reading books, watching films, road cycling, and cooking.
